Habitual Gratitude
read pages 144-149
Ingratitude is actually a form of selfishness, and it can be devastating to the feelings of others.  Have you ever sacrificed to give someone something to make them happy, and they showed no gratitude?
Americans must face the reality that we are in debt (owe a debt of gratitude). We are the richest, most powerful, most prosperous, most educated, cleanest, healthiest people who have ever been on the face of the earth.  At times we can also be the most selfish, self-centered, ungrateful people who have ever lived.
All ingratitude is basically ingratitude to God.  Gratitude as well as ingratitude can become a habit of life.  We can begin to see everything that happens to us as an opportunity to praise God.  Gratitude can be added to character.  Gratitude is a learned way of life.  It is the Spirit of Jesus and not the spirit of the world.  There is joy and meaning to be found in serving God, who has given us more than we could ever pay back.
Gratitude and contentment are the answers of true character to the discontented,
