"Changing Places"
We have been studying 2 categories so far....Deliverance and Development.  Now we will begin studying Destiny.
Questions:
From what were the Israelites delivered?
From what has God delivered you?
How did the wilderness develop the Hebrews?
How has the wilderness developed you?
Deut. 1:6-7

How does the term destiny correspond to Canaan?
According to John 10;10, what is your destiny as a Christ follower?
Deut.1:2
Breaking Camp:    Three months after leaving Egypt, Israel arrived at Sinai, where they remained for about a year.  After that pause in their travels, they made one last major geographical move to position them for the destiny God had long ago purposed for them. They camped for 38 years in the wilderness of Paran.
How do you react to breaking camp and moving forward?
--  "I'd rather stay where I feel safe.  I don't like change.
--  "Here we go again.  Wonder what God's got in store for us this time?"
--  "Yes!  Finally, I'm moving closer to the promised land!"

Sometimes, we must choose to cooperate within a new set of parameters in new seasons of life and be delighted at the new things God has for us.  We must be ready to turn away from the way we have lived, set our journeys according to the new paths God maps for us, and then go as He leads.

Read the following passages and discuss how each illustrates the 3 principles of TURN, SET YOUR JOURNEY, and GO:
Heb. 12:1-2
I cor. 9:24-27

Now consider your own life.  From what is the Lord asking you to turn recently?
To what does He want you to chart a new course?
Calculate the changes you may need to make in order to embrace His new journey for you.
(examples:  education, new ministry, lifestyle changes, new relationship,  job change, spiritual disciplines...etc...)
God's gifts require lifestyle modification to handle, enjoy, and fully appreciate them.  We must make the decision to turn and chart out a plan of action in order to enjoy and appreciate "a new place".
Which aspect of your calculated journey do you most anticipate?   Dread?

GET READY....Turn from that rope ladder, grasp that trapeze bar, set your eyes on the platform ahead, and prepare to let go.  The Lord won't leave you dangling.  He will provide just what you need just when you need Him.  You must trust that He will take care of you as you follow His new direction for your life.  He loves YOU!

Changing for the better Together,
Becky
